Our blessed time in Wheaton College
Anatole Denisenko, UETS teacher on Systematic Theology courses and Christian Apologetics:
This summer three of us (Anatole and Veronika Denisenko, Aleхandr Yepishev) had a wonderful opportunity to come to the beautiful place Wheaton College (http://www.wheaton.edu/), city of Wheaton, state Illinois. It is real testimony for us, because we know that each year many applicants are sending their applications to the summer program for the Eastern European students at Wheaton College and we were so happy, that people that are responsible for this summer tutorial chose us! We are very appreciating for this!
We spent at Wheaton College 6 amazing weeks with other students from Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Bosnia, Serbia, Hungary, and Russia. Every day we had a morning session when different professors (from Wheaton College, Oxford and Chicago University) were coming and shared with us their experience and knowledge in different areas such as Islam, Postmodernity, Urban ministry, Israel/Palestine conflict, Counseling and Psychology. Also, we were participating in interesting discussions with our group about many theological issues. We went to the excursions in Wheaton, Chicago. We had a wonderful opportunity attend many interesting churches and ministries such as Willow Creek Community Church; Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church; Black-American communities; Lawndale Community Church (Black-American Church) and Jericho Road Church and College Park Church in Indianapolis.
Wheaton College is amazing place for studying, refreshing and gain strength. They have very good facilities for students: large library (around 400 000 volumes), Billy Graham museum and studying centre, good cafeteria, gym, swimming pool.
We are very thankful to God and to all Eastern European students who were studying and sharing their life experience with us. Special thanks to Karen Martin; Carol Kraft; Don Church; Tillman’s family; Duane Elmer; Dave Sveen and Kriegbaum’s family. You did a great job for all of us!
