UETS Research Center has been created for study and research of various issues in Christian History and Theology. Part of the activity of UETS Research Center is formation of the museum of Ukrainian Spiritual History, reproduction of the old books on Theology and Church History, writing and translation of research papers and books.
Ukrainian Protestantism has quite a long history and is strongly tied with some 18 th century Orthodox sects and Reformation movements. Our Research center studies those movements and their influence on Ukrainian Evangelicalism. We search for and study the documents, artifacts that can tell us about Slavic spiritual history, and more specifically – Evangelical spiritual history. Also we study Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic (both Western and Eastern rites) spirituality. We collect and republish books and research papers by Ukrainian and Russian seminary professors and students related to various issues on Christian History and Spirituality.
The Museum of Ukrainian Spiritual History shows the development of Ukrainian Orthodox, Catholic, Baptist and Pentecostal churches during late 19 th and 20 th centuries. Yet some of our artifacts are from 18th and even 17th centuries. In our museum you may see Old Slavic Bibles and liturgical books, first Russian Bibles, Orthodox theological journals and public magazines, first Protestants hymnals and magazines, handwritten devotional literature, experts from letters and personal notes of Christians of pre-Soviet and Soviet times (times of communist persecution of Christian faith) and also from Slavic Diaspora. Folk icons, Christian postcards, books and magazines from Soviet and post-Soviet Age will show the life of Christians during those years.
