On February 7, 2019, students and faculty of the Music Department of Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary contributed to Night to Shine Ukraine, a prom event with focus on God’s love for people with special needs.

The international initiative was launched by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2015 to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.

Since that time every year hundreds of thousands come together on one night around one dream... Only last year 721 host churches from all over the world celebrated 110,000 honored guests through the support of 215,000 volunteers!

Around 300 volunteers from 27 cities and towns, including the team from UETS, made this year’s event possible in Ukraine.

“Such experience helps us perceive diversity of God’s family. It was a great pleasure for me and my friends to serve people with special needs on the night,” Matthew Zhdan, a 3-year student of music, said.

“I got convinced that people with special needs often perform beyond all expectations and achieve great results. They sing, play different musical instruments, ride horses, go parachuting, set up new companies,” he added.

A transformed society is a society which cares about everyone. It means that UETS students are privileged to contribute to projects aimed at renewing the Ukrainian nation.
