During these disturbing times, life within the seminary still brims with activity, bustling with events, conferences, and regular study sessions.

In the final week of April, the Christian Care and Counseling Program immersed students in two pivotal programs: ‘Soul Care and Psychological Counseling’ and ‘Art Therapy.’ These academics stand as a beacon, addressing the contemporary demands of ministry by imparting a deep understanding of Christian care principles and counseling skills. Its mission is to nurture counselors and equip them to serve both within the church community and broader society.

By blending biblical principles with psychological practices, the programs provide a holistic educational experience. Students refine their abilities in psychological counseling, enhancing their observational acumen and deepening their understanding of scientific insights within a biblical framework. This dual approach ensures that students are well-equipped to offer compassionate, informed, and ethically sound care, embodying the values of Christian ministry in their professional practices.

During the immersive ‘Family Counseling’ two weeks segment, students delved into the intricacies of family and marital psychology. They worked on developing diagnostic capabilities for familial, parent-child, and spousal dynamics, mastering preventative and counseling methodologies using modern family counseling techniques.

Within the ‘Foundations of Trauma Work’ module, students went deeper into studying crisis intervention fundamentals. They acquired diagnostic proficiencies and essential skills for offering initial assistance in cases of post-traumatic stress disorder and various crisis-induced behavioral challenges.

Meanwhile, participants of the Art Therapy program explored innovative art therapy methods. This course was meticulously designed to train specialists, volunteers, and ministers in art therapy techniques enhancing diagnostic precision and facilitating individual and group counseling. The curriculum covers fundamental art therapy concepts, diverse methodologies, and the nuanced application of art therapy within crisis intervention scenarios.

Wrapping up the session was the vibrant ‘Art Kaleidoscope’ workshop, where students shared their insights and experiences, enriching each other’s learning journey.
